So I was able to snag this recipe from my favorite patient. He has a whole drawer full of faded and old notecards, slips of paper and newspaper clipings of dozens of his mother and wife’s favorite recipes ( btw I love old worn down stuff that has a history behind it or is handed down through the generations). This is one of his mom’s coffee cake recipes, taken from the ny times 1968.

Modified the recipe and added some jalapenos for some kick. Served it with a spicy lemon aioli.
